Almost one year after the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (MRTA) was signed into law, New York will begin accepting conditional cultivator license applications on March 15, 2022. The conditional cultivation licenses are a result of recent legislation allowing hemp growers and processers to apply for conditional cultivation and processing licenses. For now, only the conditional licensing window is only open for conditional cultivation licenses.
The Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) and the Cannabis Control Board (CCB) have not yet issued regulations on conditional cultivation licenses, but OCM has provided Guidance for Adult-Use Conditional Cultivators. We have included a copy of this guidance below. Anyone interested in a conditional cultivation license should carefully review this document.
